Hi everyone! Just wanted to offer a brief exhortation following our Agape retreat this past weekend. The retreat was centered around Agape. Agape is the divine love that God has for each and every one of us. It was so powerful to witness our community in the midst of this divine love, and it's amazing how it unifies us as we all continue to grow.
The retreat was truly an anointed weekend. God used all the student speakers as instruments of His truth. We were gifted with the opportunity to take part in multiple sacraments through the likes of mass and confession, and being present with the Lord through adoration and this blessed community. So coming off of the retreat, I just wanted to leave us with a few words of encouragement that we can and apply to our everyday life.
First, God's love is a freely given gift to us. And as with any gift, it only works to give if the other is willing to receive that gift. Receive and abide by the gift that he longs to give - Agape.
Second, God's love is present in every relationship that we possess. We can find God in every relationship we have, whether this be with our family, friends, or significant others. We can see the face of God in the beautiful ways others shape our lives.
Finally, we're called to be a Christ-like figure for all those that we meet. Agape is present in everyone - and we're called to make sure everyone around us knows that. Who are we to deprive others of this magnificent grace?
So go forth and show others the ways in which Agape has shaped your life! God is the common thread that unifies all the different ways in which we can love in this world.
Peace,
Luke
